Chatsworth and the surrounding area were originally home to the Gabrielino tribe. While passing through Spanish, Mexican and finally American hands, the Chatsworth area was an agricultural center known for producing fruits like strawberries and oranges. After World War II the area saw an economic and real estate boom, and the modern city of Chatsworth came into being.

Chatsworth is a lively community, one that residents can always count on for a good time. Parks and picnic areas dot the city, as do baseball fields, recreational centers, public pools and tennis courts.

What sets Chatsworth apart, however, is its equestrian culture. Horse training, riding and rodeos are all part of the local culture. After all, Chatsworth is called "The Horse Capital of the World" for a reason!

Residents of Chatsworth have easy access to all the educational, cultural and recreational possibilities of nearby Los Angeles and Orange County. The Natural History Museum, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the California Science Center, the Los Angeles Zoo, Disneyland, Knott's Berry Farm and Magic Mountain are just a few of the attractions within easy driving distance.
